Retreat with Norman and Maitripushpa
Norman and Maitripushpa run regular retreats at various venues. Getting away can be a wonderful way of evolving practise and deepening understanding. Each retreat has morning classes of intuitive flow yoga (with plenty of props and plenty of options) and afternoon classes of Yin yoga. Every day there are morning and evening sessions of meditation led by Maitripushpa.
Being on retreat can be an opportunity to experience more space, more content, more insight. Norman and Maitripushpa emphasise accessibility and inclusivity. Maitripushpa is significantly influenced by many years of Buddhist practice plus years of study within other spiritual traditions.
In the words of a previous participant: “Having done classes, workshops and retreats with Norman and Maitrepushpa for many years, I always feel confident to recommend friends to sign-up, regardless of their prior yoga experience, since these two have a unique way to make it accessible to all but at the same time still stimulating and fun for yoga students with lots of experience”.
Some context re yoga retreats and flying. Norman and Maitripushpa no longer teach retreats at venues that are only accessible by flying.

"Taking the India retreat with Norman and Maitripushpa was such a magical way to spend 10 days in Goa. There was the structure of the practice—having meditation and yoga daily—and enough time and space for self-reflection, reading, going to the beach, eating ice cream, and catching a sunset. It felt nourishing without feeling restricted. Norman and Maitripushpa are both kind, talented and excellent teachers. I always learn a lot from them and it adds something to my own practice. As a student, you can be the driver of what you want to do (or not do) in the yoga classes. Whether you are going through something internally or just want a yoga holiday, I can't recommend this retreat enough! I would sign up again!"

“There is something incredibly special and unique about Norman and Maitripushpa. The 10 days I spent with them on retreat in India felt, honestly, life-affirming. They created such a wonderful and nourishing space – it was totally magical. Their genuine kindness and generosity shines through in their teaching, and the sense of community they create makes it feel totally safe to explore both body and mind. I left feeling lighter and less critical, and I hope to carry some of their goodness with me into everyday life. Norman's thorough, mindful approach to asana helped to clear my mind and re-focus on alignment. By the end of the retreat, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated.”

As soon as I saw Norman was running a retreat in Goa, I snapped up a place… What a nourishing ten days it was... Norman and Maitripushpa create a safe and nurturing space that is truly special. Coming home, I felt stronger and more flexible in both body and mind. I would recommend a retreat like this to anyone - a real opportunity to slow down and replenish, whether you're new to yoga or have been practising for years. Norman has an incredible way of grounding the practice and bringing it back to what it's really about.
